What is CEH and How Much Does the CEH Exam (Really) Cost

The certified ethical hacker course is designed for security professionals seeking to demonstrate their ability to identify weaknesses in target systems and identify vulnerabilities for employers or clients. These professionals use hacking training courses often associated with hackers. CEH ethical hacking course is the most well-known certification offered by EC-Council, an organisation devoted to the education and training of cybersecurity professionals.

The course consists of two levels. CEH certification can be obtained by passing a multiple-choice test covering a broad range of hacking topics and meeting some training and experience requirements. The next step is to take the CEH Practical exam for hacking training. This exam includes performing penetration tests on computer simulations. You will receive the CEH Master title from EC Council if you succeed.

The cost for this course varies over time; therefore, it is difficult to determine. Along with the $100 application fee, you will also need to purchase an exam voucher, which costs approximately $950; however, if you sit for the exam online, the price may be higher since you need to hire a supervisor to monitor you during the examination. There is also the cost associated with official ethical hacking training programs.

Despite being unnecessary for candidates with at least 2 years of professional experience, these fees may significantly contribute to the overall cost. You may spend as little as $1,050 if you study entirely on your own without taking any ethical hacking training courses or as much as $4,298 if you enrol in a full-on boot camp.

It will cost you an additional $550 to sit for the Practical exam if you wish to earn your Certified Ethical Hacker certification for your Master's.

While some upfront costs will be associated with the certified ethical hacker course certification, the actual cost will vary depending on various factors. While the cost for you may be above the average, it will be a worthwhile investment when you earn your Certified Ethical Hacker certification.
